Today, the mayor of Shkodra, Benet Beci, shared on social media the impressions of several foreign tourists who have visited Shkodra in recent days.

The Mesi Bridge remains a unique destination for all visitors, attracting both local and foreign tourists to Shkodra.

“Foreign tourists closely experience the tradition and history of Albanian weddings near the Mesi Bridge, a cultural monument that attracts an increasing number of local and international visitors each year,” Beci stated.

Foreign visitors are impressed not only by Shkodra’s natural beauty but also by its local customs and traditions.

“I’m from Brittany, France. This place is very charming—a wonderful destination with plenty of places to discover. I really enjoy the bridge and the mountains. We toured some traditional villages and are excited to see the groom preparing for a beautiful wedding,” one visitor said.

“We come from Poland. There are six of us, and it’s our first time visiting Albania. This is a wonderful bridge,” said another foreign tourist.

Built in 1768, the Mesi Bridge is one of the gems of Albania’s architecture and cultural heritage, welcoming hundreds of visitors every day.

Measuring 108 meters in length and 3.40 meters in width, the Mesi Bridge features 13 asymmetrical arches. It was constructed using hewn stones, with its pathway paved with stone slabs. The bridge’s value is further enhanced by its picturesque surroundings, including rocky terrain and crystal-clear waters.
