TIRANA, August 13 /ATA/ Nationwide public beach plots grew by 67% this season as total coastal surface area expanded past a 10% increase, stated today Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sports Blendi Gonxhja.

Writing in the social media, Gonxhja stated that Saranda serves as a prime example of our success this season in providing citizens with broader, affordable access to public beaches.

According to the minister, this new municipal management model features balanced, approved tariffs.

Minister Gonxhja praised Saranda for its strong institutional cooperation, which has increased safety, improved public access and lowered complaints. While challenges remain, this success sets a solid foundation for keeping beaches public, accessible, and affordable.

Expanding public beach areas gives locals and tourists more room to enjoy the coast, especially during peak summer months.

Today, Minister of Internal Affairs Besfort Lamallari, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sports Blendi Gonxhja and Mayor of Saranda Oltion Çaçi conducted an inspection of the measures taken for the smooth running of the tourist season, while the flows of tourists and citizens at ports and other border crossing points continue to increase.
