TIRANA, March 2 /ATA/ Government investments in the cities of the country have convinced many citizens to return and invest in their properties, which have increased in value thanks to these investments.

Such has been the government’s investment in the Gjirokastra Bazaar.

Minister of Interior, Bledi Çuçi, pointed out that the Gjirokastra Bazaar, ruined and consigned to oblivion due to incompetence of those who want to take office again, today is one of the most attractive areas for visitors and for those who want to do business

“Everyone remembers the Gjirokastra Bazaar years ago. Ruined and consigned to oblivion due to incompetence of those seeking to return to power. “Today it is one of the most attractive areas for visitors and for those who want to do business,” the minister said.

Çuçi shared the case of a young man, who quit his career as a footballer in Greece, to return to Gjirokastra, where he gave a makeover to his property, converting it into an awesome space in the service of the city and tourism.

“Gjergji Dhima is the typical case of a young man who after a few years abroad returns to his hometown to invest in his property, converting it into an awesome space in the service of the city and tourism. Certainly this investment would not have been made if we still had the Bazaar we found years ago,” the Minister said.
For these and many other reasons, Çuçi says, Albania should not go back to the ruination and disarray DP-SMI.
“We will win this election, because we do not compare to our rivals, we are two different worlds. Albanians will appreciate those who work,” he said.

Gjergji himself says that he has returned together with his Greek wife, because his property increased in value after the restoration of the Bazaar.

“I have returned to Gjirokastra, my hometown, since a year and a half. I stayed for 15 years in Greece where I played football. Many friends and acquaintances who were surprised by my return, said to me: why did you come back, Gjergj, when people want to leave? But I have no regrets. I came back together with my wife, who is a Greek citizen. We are integrated. It was not easy at first. I had other opportunities besides football, to stay where I was in Greece, but we both decided to go back here. For years this property has been a dilapidated building and we have transformed it. After the restoration of the Bazaar area, the restaurant and the hotel also increased in value,” he says.

He says that Gjirokastra has developed into an important touristic centre in the south of the country luring an increasing number of tourists on a year to year basis.
