TIRANA, Dec 18 /ATA/ Parliament Speaker Niko Peleshi reacted after opposition MPs caused chaos in Parliament, disrupting the proceedings of the plenary session.
Peleshi stressed that “The Parliament of Albania is not merely a forum for debate, but an institution where the words and conduct of MPs should reflect responsibility and foster understanding rather than division.”

According to him, any act that violates code of ethics, respect, and the operational rules of Parliament severely undermines dignity, compromises representation, and erodes public trust.

Peleshi emphasized that “our duty is to cooperate for solutions in the best interest of the country, to engage in serious dialogue, not to cause chaos.”
“National interest takes precedence over political interests. No political force can claim to represent the truth in silo, and no party division should allow us to forget that we all serve the same nation and its citizens,” wrote Peleshi.
The Speaker of Parliament further stated, “The institutions of the Republic are a shared value, not a battleground for personal or partisan conflicts. Preserving, strengthening, and respecting them is a responsibility that unites us beyond our political divides. Only when we place the state above the party can we build a stronger Albania for future generations. Respect for Parliament is respect for the Republic, respect for the citizens.”
Peleshi also expressed gratitude to the employees of the Guard of the Republic and the Parliament services for their professionalism and responsibility in carrying out their duties.
