During the conversation with Basha, they shared their main concerns about school infrastructure which falls short of the standards and disadvantages of online learning.

Basha said that the problems with education have their roots in undignified treatment of teachers and embezzlement of funding earmarked for this sector as well as poor governance.

According to him, all this is spilled over into the closure of around 400 schools due to negligence and depopulation of the country.

He said the Democratic Party plan includes salary raise, increased funding for education and the creation of decent conditions for pupils and students to conduct online learning.

“This government and this prime minister have let Albania and these children down in education. The undignified treatment of teachers has caused a decline in the quality of teaching, militancy, deprofilization of teachers recruitment,” said Basha.
