According to Basha, vetting in politics is needed to free the state from the capture of government holders- linked with oligarchs.

“The capture of the state by the power-holders who have links with the oligarchs has reached the highest level in the region, damaging the market, driving the prices up and ruining jobs. Therefore, even this year, the draft budget is approved to enrich the oligarchs and leave the leftovers to the citizens. To make sure that the state is not in the hands of a small minority of people, that economy is competitive and honest entrepreneurs are free to create prosperity, we need to vet politics. Basha added that we need to cleanse politics of those who have abused the trust of Albanians enriching themselves and a handful of people.

“Albania is the poorest country in Europe, because it is has the highest level of corruption in Europe. The pessimistic situation with people struggling to make ends meet, entrepreneurs struggling to survive in a non-competitive economy, the elderly pressed for money due to insufficient pensions and the young people dreaming to build their life far away from Albania, should be a wakeup call to end impunity, to cleanse politics from all those who have abused the trust of citizens, enriching themselves and a handful of people,” said Basha.
