In a televised interview, Basha commented on the allegations against the DP candidate in Shijak.
Basha said that the DP is the initiator behind the law on decriminalization.

“I have personally removed people from our lists due to clues in the past and I will do this whenever necessary and that is why on a case by case basis I have asked for double check of records from the relevant authorities.

So it is a sheer hypocrisy to expect moralization from a political force and from a man who criminalized his political force,” he said.

“The assurance that Albanians have received is that with their vote on April 25, they will vote for a prime minister and a government that will vet politicians and enforce the law on decriminalization. Without fighting corruption, without disassociating politics from crime, Albania cannot move forward.

“Neither the next prime minister nor the next government can have a human face if they continue to be held hostage to crime,” he said.

Asked about the breach of Covid measures during his electoral meetings, Basha said that “the biggest threat to life in these 8 years has been Edi Rama himself. This risk has multiplied due to the way he has managed the pandemic. Businesses has not received the minimum support with many of them facing bankruptcy or closure. The families have not received a minimum support,” he said.

Regarding the agreement with SMI, Basha said that nothing can keep us and Albanians apart.

Basha also commented on the posting of Serbian President, Aleksandar Vucic on social networks showing the map of Kosovo engulfed by the Serbian flag.

“President Vucic’s statement was worthy of the last century and as such it undermines the climate of stability and progress of the countries in the region and runs counter to the aspirations of the peoples in the region to join the European Union. Kosovo’s independence is an irreversible reality and an independent Kosovo will become with the help of our strategic partners and of Albania and Albanian government a full-fledged member of NATO and the European Union tomorrow,” he said.
