“The corrupt affair of the Incinerators brought to light after a long public battle waged by DP, already proved by the arrests and seizures of SPAK, and money laundering through the construction of high-rise buildings with undeclared and falsified balance sheets, such as the last case in the heart of Tirana reported to SPAK by the group of DP municipal councilors, are two sides of the same coin,” said Basha.

Basha emphasized that, through the affair of the incinerators, millions of euros were stolen from the pockets of Albanian taxpayers.
“The money of government corruption in cooperation with organized crime and economic crime is laundered through the schemes of high rise building construction in the middle of Tirana”, he said.

Basha added that corruption robs citizens of their future, impoverishes Albanian families, erodes fair competition, sets back economic growth, undermines democracy and trust in institutions.
