The DP head revealed details of this program on social media.

“We discussed with the healthcare team our plan that will provide citizens with quality and timely health services,” Basha emphasized.

“While the corrupt bill for health concessions goes up to millions of euros, today Albanians spend up to 60% more money out of pocket in medical services and treatments. This is the highest figure among the Balkan countries, which is proof of how the health sector deteriorating,” said Basha.
Basha added that “the citizens are suffering the consequences of poor-quality medications, while the list of reimbursed drugs includes the cheapest ones, which have less effect. Another problem is the lack of medical devices and the long time patients have to wait for examinations.”

“With the money that have been embezzled in concessions, the PPPs and biddings, any responsible government would have enabled a quality service to patients where they live and better working and financial conditions of the medical staff,” Basha added.

“The exodus of doctors is not curbed by “imprisoning” them in Albania, but by creating conditions and opportunities for a decent life, for professional growth and conditions to exercise their profession,” Basha said.
