Compared to the same period a year ago, this indicator increased by 6.6%.

The largest credit growth resulted in the segment of individuals and corporations.

Fresh credit for the month of August increased in parallel both for businesses, by 7.5%, and for individuals, by 5.5% more compared to the same period last year.

For the entire 8-month period of the year, the value of the fresh loan extended by the banking sector reached 191.2 billion ALL, an increase of 1.7% compared to the same period of the previous year, according to BoA.

TIRANA, Sept  30 /ATA/ Inflation and soaring interest rates in the financial markets have not affected the expansion of lending to the economy.

The data of the Bank of Albania show that in August and during the entire 8-month period, the fresh loan recorded an all time- high at least in the last seven years.

The banking sector disbursed ALL 27.4 billion in fresh loan during August 2022. Compared to August of last year, fresh loan to the economy have increased by 38.3%.

BoA announces that, for the entire 8-month period, the fresh loan reached the value of 188 billion lek or about 1.6 billion euros.

Compared to the 8 month period of 2021, fresh loan has increased by 22.4%.

For bankers, the expansion of lending is the appropriate response of banks that continue their activity uninterruptedly, financing businesses and families, as a catalyst for the growth of consumption and economy as a whole.
