According to BoA, the total stock of deposits at the end of March hit the level of 7.38 billion euros, with an increase of 1.5% compared to a month ago.

The increase in March is attributed to “Private non-financial corporations,” which increased by 9.8%, or 108 million euros more savings in banks.

Meanwhile, on an annual basis, foreign currency-denominated deposits have increased by 15.3% (March 2024/March 2023), or 983 million euros more.

Experts explain that the increase in deposits is an indicator of the high circulation of European currency in the country, which is attributed to the high number of foreign tourists who have entered Albania. Bank savings increased by over 111 million euros in March.
