TIRANA, July 7 /ATA/ Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku, stated on Thursday that the Arbri Road not only shortened the travel distance from Dibra to Tirana to 1 hour from 6 hours, but also propelled local agriculture into development generating new jobs.

The minister spoke at the Q&A session requtested by the DP deputy, Xhelal Mziu.
Mziu spoke about the Arbri Street project which, according to him, is far from over.

“This road remains a dream for the people of Dibra and Bulqiza, because not even half of it is completed, not to talk about the costs incurred,” said Mziu.

According to Minister Balluku, if Arbri Road were so important, Mziu should have at least pushed his fellow party members to complete this road.

“You said that this road is very important and I don’t understand why you did not push your fellow party members to build this road. This road was built after the Rama –led government conducted the studies after those studies done from 2007 to 2013,” said Balluku.

I happen to meet citizens, not merely party members, as political leader of Dibra. And what I see in that region is that these works that have been carried out on Arbri Road have delivered an impact on the lifeline of the citizens of Dibra, Bulqiza, Mati and Klos, but also on the life of those from these areas who live today in Tirana. Saying that nothing has been done, when the gentleman is one of those flaggers of roads left unfinished, is a disgrace. Today the travel distance to Tirana has been cut to 1 hour, when the locals took 6 hours to get to Peshkopi. Jobs have been created, because agriculture continues to flourish, but also because of the refurbished infrastructure, because they can bring their local produce to the capital market or elsewhere more quickly. He talks about dreams and says that Arbri Road remains a dream. No, it does not remain a dream under the leadership of the “Rama” government. You dwelt on dreams, our task is to make dreams a reality as are the Arbri Road, the bypass of Fier, Vlora, Skavica, the tunnel of Llogora. We are here to make your dreams come true,” stated Balluku.

Balluku stated that the government has not added money to the contract and that the payments have been made according to the terms provided in the contract.
