Balluku was accompanied by the mayor of Pogradec, Ilir Xhakolli, the General Director of Customs Directorate, Gent Gazheli, as well as the Director of ARA, Evis Berberi.

“We have decided to standardize all entry points in the Republic of Albania, land border crossings.”

Balluku added that there will also be works for upgrading the infrastructure, which will be covered by the maintenance contracts of ARA, as well as some interventions from the Ministry of Culture, placing a work of art in each of the customs points.

“On the other hand, we will continue to add some elements, which will mark and identify each point, which are some totems that welcome visitors to Albania. All this will be done based on a project including the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of Infrastructure, the Ministry of Culture, but of course under the coordination of the General Directorate of Customs. We are implementing this project, which at first seemed a little bit difficult to be materialized so fast, before the official start of the season, that is, before July 1, but to be honest, many of the points are being delivered”, said Balluku.

Balluku underlined that, “Qafë Thana is part of a program financed by the World Bank, to turn it into a “one stop shop” as we have done with the Muriqani point, but we must also say another fact that this border point will always be functional, that’s why we are applying the “one stop shop” program, but there will be an exit point once the Corridor 8 project is finished down there.
