TIRANA, 28  /ATA/ Deputy Prime Minister, also Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku stated on Friday that this November is the 14th month that the Albanian government shields every household subscriber from the soaring price of electricity.

In the meeting held on Friday in Bulqiza, Balluku said that, “after ERE released the price of energy today, the media scrambled to report that the price of electricity will increase.”

“ERE approves the prices, the application is up to the government. As it happened in September, but also in October, we are waiting for all the data in terms of consumption, which has decreased. Albanians have consumed 5% less than in October 2021. On the other hand, in the first week of November, rainfalls are forecast for the area of ​​the Drin cascade, which would increase the likelihood of  the government holding off on applying the 800 kW threshold,” Balluku said.

The minister explained that the 800 kW threshold is not a price increase, it is the cap on the shield for all Albanian subscribers.”We shield 1 million and 90 thousand families from the soaring price of energy. November is the 14th month in a row that the Albanian government subsidizes the cost of energy for every household subscriber,” said Balluku.
