TIRANA, Nov 6 /ATA/ Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku, announced on Monday that a package of 40 million euros will be invested in the energy system to improve the supply of electricity, prioritizing touristic areas.

During a meeting with employees of OSHEE, where she rolled out the salary reform in this sector, Balluku said that the study of the territory has determined the areas where investment will be made.

“We have a preliminary study of the territory. We have identified tourist areas that are in dire need of immediate intervention. We have started the implementation of an investment package worth about 40 million euros. Contracts worth 15 million euros have been concluded. This shows that we are entering a new phase in terms of investments in the field of electricity distribution,” said Balluku.

According to Balluku, installation of 500 electronic meters has contributed to the increased level of collections which does not allow fixed billing.
