TIRANA, Oct 29 /ATA/ Deputy Prime Minister, also Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku, highlighted the progress of agriculture in the district of Dibra, describing this area as the prime example of Albanian agriculture.

In attendance of the meetings held on Saturday by Prime Minister Edi Rama in Peshkopi, Balluku said that “here there are hardworking people who know how to work and access the national schemes.”

“During this year, we provided subsidies, through the National Scheme for Agriculture, which amounted to 4.9 billion. We started with a budget that was half of the fund, but given the need for oil support and everything else, it went up to 4.9 billion lek”, said Balluku.

“I want to congratulate the Minister of Agriculture Frida Krifca for the excellent work she has done in her previous position as director of ARDA, but also today at the helm of one of the most important sectors of the country’s economy, agriculture,” Deputy Prime Minister Balluku said.
Balluku stated that the sustainable growth of agriculture in Albania is indisputable compared to the “Open Balkan” countries.

“We have recorded a growth of 1.5%. Despite a year like no other due to the overlapping crises, North Macedonia has grown by 0.5% and Serbia has a negative net worth in agriculture. Dibra is ahead of the curve in agriculture,” she emphasized.
