“As years go by, we are faced with trials and tribulations, which undoubtedly require self-restraint, will and strength. Blessed are those who work and leave a good name in this world. Blessed are those who work for the country. Blessed are those who work day in and day out to change Albania”, said Balluku.

Happy 2024 from the construction sites everywhere in Albania. From the engine of the Albanian economy, from the infrastructure. From the bridges, roads, airports and ports that we build every day, all together, from the young men and women who contribute to the development of our country,” Balluku said in a video message.

“The year 2023 has been a challenging year, an important year for Transmission System Operator as well. I am here today at one of the most important construction sites. We have just broken ground on the site of the transmission line between North Macedonia and Albania, a part of the 8th energy corridor. But 2024 will bring even more significant challenges for us. We will have to work relentlessly with the Italian side for the construction of the underwater transmission line that connects Albania with Italy. That line will give Albania the opportunity to become important, not only for the Balkan region, but also for all of Europe. Albania produces 100% renewable energy. Albania plans to be a net exporter in 2030. Albania considers energy as a strength of security and sovereignty”, said Balluku, among other things.

Balluku also spoke about the reform in the water supply and sanitation system.

“The year 2023 has seen implementation of a sweeping reform in the water supply-sanitation system, the establishment of 16 aggregated enterprises with a majority of the Albanian state, from 61 enterprises under the municipalities. All this is associated with indicators, real results that show the improved financial performance, but also technical performance of these enterprises. Today, the Albanian government continues with its investments in the entire Albanian territory. With investments in water supply and sanitation, everywhere from south to north, from east to west. We will keep the momentum in 2024”, Balluku said .
