TIRANA, July 21 /ATA/ Deputy Prime Minister, also Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku assured on Friday that all measures are being taken to ensure uninterrupted supply of energy throughout the country, this summer season, which sees a high influx of tourists and scorching temperatures.

“There are two important components at play, a high influx of tourists in coastal cities, from Velipoja to Ksamil, that have increased in number significantly which makes it challenging to provide uninterrupted energy supply service. The second component is the heatwave that has engulfed our country, causing technical problems. We had to cope with this challenge during the past week,” said Balluku.

According to her, the OST (Transmission System Operator) and OSHEE (Energy Distribution Operator) have closely cooperated to fix any problem in the shortest time possible.

Balluku also introduced the new director of OSHEE, Enea Karakaçi, who a few weeks ago replaced Ardian Çela.
She emphasized that there will be a new restructuring to give another impulse to the work in OSHEE and other related operators.
