At a news briefing from the headquarters of Parliament, Balla answered the question whether the majority has a new name for the next President.

“Rama has been very clear. The SP has not initiated the dismissal of Meta out of the need to have a representative, instead the initiative to dismiss the president has come out of the need to free the President’s office from a hostage situation and the election of a new president will take time and why not it should be subject to an important package in cooperation with opposition,” he said.
Meanwhile, Balla said that “the MPs will take the necessary time to review the 100-page document containing arguments for the dismissal of President, so we agreed at the conference of whips that the plenary session to review the report and then to vote on the dismissal of President of the Republic should be held on June 9, at 10 hrs. We have also made arrangements on the time available for MPs to give their opinions during the discussion. ”

“The Constitution is very clear and determines the manner of conducting this session followed by the rules of parliament procedure. Parliament of Albania ends its procedure on June 9 and after that, it is the Constitutional Court that assesses whether or not the violations found by us are serious constitutional violations that correspond precisely to the provisions of the relevant article of the Constitution for the dismissal of President. I will not comment on this issue until the Constitutional Court delivers its ruling.”

We have a functioning Constitutional Court, Balla said.
