TIRANA, Feb 23 /ATA/ The National Inspectorate of Territory Protection with the support of the State Police is freeing up the spaces along the national roads from illegal business and developments. The collection sites of motor vehicles, trailers, as well as their spare parts and vehicles out of use along the roads are prohibited by law. The first phase of this process entails the voluntary removal of scrap yards by the owners.

Minister of Interior Taulant Balla closely followed an IKMT action on the Tirana-Durrës highway, for the removal of old motor vehicles, scrap yards, etc.

During this operation for freeing up the spaces along the roads from illegal businesses, IKMT is backed by the forces of the State Police, the Vora Police in order to free up the spaces occupied by illegal businesses on both sides of the main roads.

During this inspection, Balla emphasized that “under the law in place, every business should be located 1 km away from the main road. Worse than that, parking cars on the road is a source of accidents. We want your understanding to take the measures, but don’t forget that this is not only related to the aspect of security, but also to a cleanup operation that we want to do to on the sides of all the roads . The State Police will also be involved in this operation.”
