During a televised interview, Balla said that I will not try to convince Basha of the reasons why he lost, because each of the parties must read the result responsibly and objectively.

“We, the winners, will also conduct a very analytical process, in terms of the result in every corner of the territory and the DP must make an in-depth analysis. If I were the Democratic Party head, I would not make the list that the Democratic Party made in Elbasan,” he said.

Balla pointed out that the difference between the SP and the DP in these elections is 10% and in no country of the world the result showing a party well ahead of the others is thrown into question.

Speaking about the opposition, Balla said that “the DP deserves to be lauded if it accepts the fact that the path of boycott leads to nowhere but the next defeat.”

“The CEC approved on Tuesday the table of results. The deadline for appeals starts to run from today. I think that every political party should pursue its grievances in an institutional way. I hope the DP will return to the institutions. Being out of parliament from February 26, 2019 and boycott of local elections drove DP out of the system. The return of DP to the system is a welcome news. I really believe and I want to quote what US Department of State said that we welcome the election result, we continue the close strategic partnership with Prime Minister Rama, but we also welcome the DP campaign. DP conducted a strong campaign. It has recovered in a large part of the territory from the result of 2017, but let us not forget that these are the limits of the DP. I predicted the result of the Democratic Party in Elbasan. It is the same percentage of vote that DP ensured in its best year, in 2009.”
