Pressed by the media after the government meeting, Balla commented on the new mechanism approved by the EU for the issue of immigrants, underlining that Albania was the first aspirant country that offered to tackle a challenge, which will be the challenge of the century for Europe and beyond.

“First and foremost, we must understand that Albania set an example of solidarity through the agreement signed with the Italian government. This example is being considered to be followed by all other member countries or those aspiring to become members of the EU,” Balla said.
