The news was given by the Mayor of Tirana Erion Veliaj at the meeting of the City Council.

“There is an annex to the contribution of the Municipality of Tirana to the project co-financed by GIZ, to help the needy. We have designed a project, which employs 300 citizens from the Roma and Egyptian community, mainly those trapped in street situation. I believe that the most humane way to deal with people caught up in a street situation is by telling them: We have a social center for meals and hygiene, we have teachers and mentors for children, we offer some municipal packages, but we also have a job for you. I believe today that the minimum wage has also increased, we need to reflect on the increase of the Municipality’s contribution to this GIZ project to employ these 300 citizens who come from a vulnerable background,” said Veliaj.
