TIRANA, Nov 5 /ATA/ Over 36,000 families have benefited the bonus for newborns since January 1 of this year.

The news was shared on Sunday by the Minister of Health and Social Protection, Albana Koçiu, who said that, even in the 2024 budget, the Albanian government will continue to finance the Baby Bonus Program.

The fund for this program will be 2.2 billion ALL, supporting families from its first steps, Koçiu said.

The baby bonus program came into effect on January 1, 2019.
This program in the course of 5 years has provided support to almost 200,000 families.

According to the changes in the law on social assistance approved in October of this year, only the families living and contributing in Albania are entitled to the baby bonus.

The purpose of the baby bonus policy is to support families who live and contribute to the Republic of Albania, giving them a financial reward to cover the costs associated with bringing up children.

By means of the baby bonus, Albanian families are supported in the amount of 40,000 ALL for the birth of the first baby; in the amount of 80,000 ALL for the birth of the second baby; in the amount of 120,000 ALL for the birth of the third baby and so on for the following babies.

TIRANA, Oct 3 /ATA/ Since earlier this year more than 32,000 families have received the baby bonus, with the direct support of the government through the Social Protection Program.

The news was shared by PM Edi Rama on Sunday.

“More than 32 thousand newborns have benefited this year the baby bonus as part of the government’s social protection program, which continues to support every child born with 40,000 ALL if he is the first child in the family; ALL 80,000 for the second child and ALL 120,000 for the third child,” Rama announced.

The baby bonus is a new social policy that is being implemented by the government from January 1, 2019 and supports young families, regardless of socio-economic status.

The bonus is available to all children registered in Albania, regardless of whether they were born here or abroad.

Parents of newborn children withdraw the baby check at the maternity hospital where they are conducting the immediate registration of the child, avoiding all the bureaucratic delays that have occurred before. /j.p/sm/
