National Veterinary and Plant Protection Authority said that the affected premise has been quarantined and measures have been taken to prevent the spread of the infection.

The Authority announced that as soon as the Food Safety and Veterinary Institute confirmed the outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) linked to the H5N1 virus variant in a backyard farm in Zall Herr, they acted immediately to efficiently and promptly control the situation on the ground.

The National Veterinary and Plant Protection Authority informs the public that it has taken all measures to eliminate the infection, as well as quarantined the outbreak and the protection and surveillance areas, to isolate and prevent the spread of the infection.

The Authority urged citizens to immediately report any suspected case to the regional veterinary service.
