The meeting focused on the recent situation in the region, with Basha underlining that the escalating threats from Serbia, Belgrade’s ties with Russia and the terrorist attack in Banjska last September are rising alarm about peace and security and they deserve heightened attention of the European Union.

“We discussed the regional situation, the threats from Serbia and its links with Russia. The terrorist attack in Banjska showed that Russia is supporting similar tactics and strategies employed in Crimea and that lead to the invading war on Ukraine. This is an alarm about peace and security in the region and in Europe and as such it deserves priority attention from the EU and the member states,” Basha said in a post on the social media.

“Kosovo’s recognition by the EU and NATO member states that have yet to recognize the country, and its membership with the Euro-Atlantic institutions would be a significant contribution to  peace and stability in the region and Europe,” Basha concluded.
