TIRANA, Oct 2 /ATA/ – A delegation of 29 Austrian judges – members of the European Association and the Austrian Association of Administrative Judges – began a two-day study visit to Albania’s justice institutions with the support of the OSCE Presence in Albania.

The delegation was welcomed at the High Judicial Council by Ilir Rusi, where they learned about its role in safeguarding the independence and accountability of the judiciary, as well as its processes for judicial careers and performance evaluation.

At the School of Magistrates, the Austrian judges were introduced to the initial and continuous training programmes for judges and prosecutors – a key element in strengthening the justice system’s capacities.

The visit continued at the Administrative Court of Appeals in Tirana, where the delegation discussed administrative law practices with Albanian judges and observed a court hearing.

This visit provided a valuable opportunity to exchange experiences and to strengthen ties between the judicial institutions of Austria and Albania, contributing to the development of a more transparent and more effective justice system.
