TIRANA, Jan  4 /ATA/ The mayor of Elbasan, Gledian Llatja, received the ambassador of Austria to our country, Christian Steiner.

Appreciating the cooperation and support over the last three decades that Austria has given to Elbasan, Llatja said that “we have a long-standing cooperation with Austria, since the construction of the first modern infrastructure in the city, as well as the development of 8-year education during the years 1916 – 1919 in the outskirts of Elbasan. During all this time we have had a good cooperation with the Austrian Embassy.”

The conversation between the mayor and the ambassador focused mainly on education, development of the city and culture in general.

“Our municipality will also open the museum of education, so I asked for the support of the ambassador to carry on the good tradition that Austria has in Elbasan, with the opening of schools in many villages of Elbasan, so we want to have a good cooperation with the opening of the museum of education in Elbasan,” Llatja said.

Describing him as a good friend of the city, Llatja thanked the ambassador for this visit at the beginning of the year in Elbasan, expressing his conviction that this cooperation will continue in the future.

For his part, the ambassador of Austria appreciated the gratitude that the mayor of Elbasan conveyed for the support that the Austrian state has given to Elbasan over the years.

He asserted that “it is true that for decades we have supported Elbasan, but also all of Albania in the field of education, mainly in vocational schools, as well as in the field of tourism and Information Technology.”
