PRISTINA, Sept 28 /ATA/ Parliament of Kosovo passed with 97 votes in favor the resolution condemning the terrorist attack on the Kosovo Police on September 24 in Banjska, Zvecan, where police sergeant Afrim Bunjaku was killed.

After the coordination between the majority and the opposition, the text of the resolution was presented by the Speaker of the Assembly, Glauk Konjufca, where, among other things, appealed to the international factor to confront Serbia with its role in relation to the organization and support it has given to this group.

The resolution offers support to the Kosovo Police for the exercise of its duties in the entire territory of Kosovo.

It calls on the Government of Kosovo to work with international allies, as well as underlines the need for an international investigation against Serbia regarding the organization of terrorist activities.

“Amid the security situation that the country is experiencing in the aftermath of the terrorist attack masterminded by the Republic of Serbia against the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Kosovo, assessing the importance of protecting the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Kosovo as well as our state commitment to contribute to peace and stability in the region, determined for the Republic of Kosovo to be a free and democratic country and the homeland of its citizens who are guaranteed rights, freedoms and equality before the law. Committed to fighting and preventing with constitutional and legal means any action and effort that infringes, threatens and attacks the constitutional order of Kosovo, the Assembly of Kosovo condemns in the strongest terms the terrorist attack on the Kosovo Police on September 24, 2023, as well as asks the international factor to exert its influence to confront Serbia with its role in relation to the organization and any kind of support it has given to the terrorist group for the attack in the north of the Republic of Kosovo. It appreciates the work and commitment to the extraordinary results of the security institutions of Kosovo and the security partner institutions EULEX and KFOR to repel and stop the terrorist attacks organized by Serbia”, said Konjufca.
This resolution also underlines the need for political pluralism in the Serbian community in Kosovo.
