In a post on social media, Balla emphasized that “the State Police are following up the leads pointing to other suspects of the attack that happened in the morning.”

“It has come to my attention through the media that the man standing at the window of justice has ordered the mouthpieces of his lies to point the finger at the prime minister as the mastermind behind a criminal attack on one of his lawyers, Sokol Mengjesi,” he said.

The minister went on saying that he had communicated in person with the lawyer’s colleagues, as soon as he learned about the incident and thanked them for their civic availability to the investigation.

“I have also kept in touch with the doctor who is taking care of the lawyer’s health. Wishing a speedy recovery to Sokol Mengjesi, I express my regret that in this case, lies are spread from the 8th floor, in order for a major corrupt person to politically victimize himself,” Balla said.
