Brataj was critical of political parties that are flouting the Covid-containment rules adding that the rallies are one of the main reasons behind the spike in number of infections.

“This is very dangerous at the moment, when we are aware of the presence of new COVID-19 strains, as the English one in Albania. People need to bear in mind that the virus does not spare anyone, even politicians themselves. A party cannot be stripped of responsibility for holding rallies which increase the likelihood of transmitting the virus. All political parties have breached the rules,” he said.

Brataj also appealed to businesses to be responsible and adhere to the measures, otherwise the Covid-19 pandemic situation risks getting out of control.

Regarding the suspicions about the “AstraZeneca” vaccine, Brataj said that this is a fight for competition adding that there is no evidence that the vaccine is dangerous. He pleads citizens to take AstraZeneca jab.
