TIRANA, April 12 /ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama shared on Wednesday a concrete example to illustrate how the teachers’ salaries will be increased in the framework of the salary reform.

Rama shared the case of Habibe Çaça, assistant school principal, lower secondary education, whose new salary in May 2023 will be 86,502 ALL, while in 2024 it will be 99,042 ALL. This salary level includes elements such as position, education level, seniority and qualification.

Rama emphasized that, “the new salaries, thanks to which the average salary in Albania will almost double, reaching an all time high of 900 euros in 2024, is the result of a long effort, perseverance and great patience for difficult reforms and necessary measures for economy and for our finances.”

The Prime Minister emphasized that the new salaries are a direct result of the increase in income thanks to the growth of the economy, trade, public and private investments, the increase in production and exports, the modernization of tax collection system through computerization of real-time transactions.

“They are attributed to streamlining and speedy business services thanks to their digitization, the strengthening of the state as a whole and the significant reduction of corruption in tax and customs administration, but above all, the new salaries are the result of our joint work , of every Albanian man and woman, who work in the state or private sector, contributing to the Albanian economy with their work,” he added. /m.m/sm/
