Asdreni museum is part of a major project with a significant impact on local economy and tourism in Korça.

Project on reconstruction of the museum is funded by Korça Municipality and the Albanian Development Fund. In addition to construction of the museum building, the project also includes a daily recreational centre for local elderly in Drenova village.

According to Mayor Filo, the village will soon become one of the most popular attractions for both local and foreign visitors.

The museum dedicated to displaying and preserving the work  by Aleksandër Stavre Drenova or commonly known by the pen name Asdreni, a prominent figure of the National Renaissance, and has already started collecting a rich collection related to the poet.

Asdreni was a poet, translator, writer and the author of the poem which later became the national anthem of Albania. He is regarded as one of the most influential Albanian writers of the 20th century and composed most of his Albanian Renaissance-inspired known works during that period.
