TIRANA, Oct 22 /ATA/ – The 6th International Watercolor Biennale in Tirana is drawing large crowds of art lovers and organized school visits, offering a vibrant celebration of watercolor painting.

More than 200 artists from 50 countries have contributed works that will be exhibited at the Tirana Art Gallery until October 30, inviting visitors on a journey through light, water, and color.

Curated by renowned Albanian painter Helidon Haliti and organized by the cultural association VIZart, this edition goes beyond a traditional exhibition. It is a living expression of spiritual communication where the delicate, poetic technique of watercolor transforms into a universal language celebrating friendship, trust, the beauty of the world, and the human spirit.

Many participating artists have visited Albania, immersing themselves in the country’s culture, traditions, cuisine, natural landscapes, and soul, which they masterfully capture in their art. They return to Tirana as ambassadors of art and affection for the country.

Part of the international platform “Mediterranean Bridges,” the Biennale is supported by the Municipality of Tirana and the Ministry of Culture, positioning the city as an open gateway for intercultural dialogue. This year’s event notably featured artists from Egypt, particularly talented faculty from Alexandria University of Arts.

A special “Nostalgia” corner pays tribute to veteran Albanian artists, masters who have illuminated and guided the country’s visual arts heritage across generations, offering a reflective space to honor their legacy.

Helidon Haliti describes the Biennale as a bridge connecting memories, visions, and artistic experiences beyond borders.

At the opening ceremony, honorary awards were presented to distinguished artists, including Ardian Isufi for “Best Avant-Garde Artist” and Nestor Jonuzi as “Master of Watercolor.” The prestigious “Ismail Lulani” award, named after a foundational figure in Albanian art, was presented by his daughter Ormira Lulani.

The Watercolor Biennale in Tirana is more than an event – it is an emotional and visual journey where each artwork opens a window into another world, offering a deeply human and shared story.

TIRANA, October 22 /ATA/ There have been numerous visitors and school students to the 6th International Watercolor Biennial in Tirana.

The works of art by painters from all over the world will continue to remain at the Tirana Art Gallery until October 30, offering the public a journey through light, water and color.

The 6th International Watercolor Biennial is curated by the well-known painter Helidon Haliti, under the organization of the VIZart Cultural Association.

Over 200 international artists from 50 countries of the world, true friends of Albania, return through their works of art. They have visited our country, experienced our culture, customs, the taste of our bread and the freshness of our water, discovered the natural and spiritual beauties that Albania offers. All these experiences have been poured onto paper with skill and sensitivity, and now they return to Tirana as ambassadors of art and love for this country.

The Biennial, part of the international platform “Mediterranean Bridges”, supported by the Municipality of Tirana and the Ministry of Culture, has transformed the city into an open gateway for intercultural dialogue, where this year’s uniqueness was the participation of Egyptian artists, with special emphasis on talented lecturers from the Alexandria University of Arts.

A special place is also occupied by the “Nostalgia” corner, a quiet space of reflection dedicated to our veteran artists, masters who through generations have left a trace in the history of Albanian visual arts. This is a tribute to those who taught us to see beyond what is obvious.

The special feature of this year’s edition was the participation of Egyptian artists from the Alexandria University of the Arts.

Curator Helidon Haliti appreciated the event as a bridge that connects memories, visions and artistic experiences, without borders.

During the opening ceremony, there were also given honorary awards to artists for their contributions to the field of visual art.

Thus, Ardian Isufi received “Best avant-garde artist” and Nestor Jonuzi – “Master of Watercolor”.

Also, there were extended the “Ismail Lulani” awards, a name that represents a cornerstone of Albanian art.

The Watercolor Biennial in Tirana is not just an event – it is an emotional and visual journey where each work becomes a window to another world, a personal narrative that, although foreign in origin, is deeply familiar in essence: human and shared. /j.p/p.s./

“A special thanks to our talented artists. You are the best ambassadors of our culture and heritage and a proof that tradition and art remain pillars of our national identity”, Gonxhja wrote in the social media.

Minister Gonxhja expressed his appreciation after the artists’ performance at the ITB Berlin tourism fair, where Albania’s participation, according to him, was another proof of the great cultural and tourist potential that our country offers.

TIRANA, September 6/ATA/ Mural Fest Tirana gets underway. It is one of the most special festivals that takes place in Tirana. Mural Fest, the tradition of an art that never dies, is an initiative of the Decor Agency from the Municipality of Tirana, this time within the framework of the “Tirana, European Youth Capital 2022”.

During his speech at the opening ceremony of the festival, the curator of Mural Fest Tirana Helidon Haliti said that the special feature of this year is that there will be more women artists participating and there will be three works dedicated to youth.

“Mural Fest started 5 years ago, realized by Dekor Tirana, bringing together artists from all over the world. The innovation of the Municipality of Tirana is that there is a group which has artists inside, who paint daily. They know the walls of Tirana and paint things every day. The door of Mural Fest is open to all students and art enthusiasts, not only in Albania, but around the world. The workshop will last 3 days. It was initiated by Dekor Tirana and the National Youth Congress. I congratulate the Congress because it has brought many activities to Albania. This year we have two great artists, such as Noe from Uruguay. This year we have four female artists, with my insistence a girl from Kosovo is also coming, Emona 21 years old who has painted several walls in Kosovo. Zana from the USA, Pablo from Spain, or Bogdani from Romania have also come,” said Haliti.

On her part, Director of the National Youth Congress Dafina Peci said that she is happy that the Congress has joined this year’s Mural Fest, within the framework of the “Tirana, European Youth Capital 2022” and that she hopes that in the coming years this initiative will develop in other cities of Albania. “We have come with Tirana Art, as an initiative that aims to bring this mural festival to the younger generations through capacity building, but also the opportunity they are given to represent the work around the city. I am convinced that we will give young people more space and opportunities and we will make it possible to preserve and promote this good tradition in other cities of Albania in the coming years as well”, said Peci.

While the program manager of the title “Tirana, the European Capital of Youth 2022” Ergys Gezga said: “In context of “Tirana, the European Capital of Youth 2022″ the festival organized by Tirana City Hall Decor is joined by Mural Art, a project that comes within the framework of the year of youth, a special year that brings many different activities for all the young people of Tirana”, said the Program Manager of the title “Tirana, European Capital of Youth 2022” Ergys Gezga. /j.p/p.s./
