Prime Minister Edi Rama shared Monday on social media the article published on WEB.DE.
Referring to the article, Rama emphasized that Albania presents a unique blend of historic cities, quaint villages, and stunning landscapes, making it a captivating destination on the Mediterranean tourist map. Alongside the vibrant capital, Tirana, Gjirokastra and Berat, both UNESCO World Heritage sites are also highlighted.
“The German media suggests that with the rapid rise in visitor numbers, those who want to experience it in peace should plan their trip as soon as possible, especially with the upcoming ITB Berlin, where Albania is the Guest Country,” writes Rama.

“Albania takes the top spot: The country has gained significantly more popularity than any other in recent years, recently welcoming 80% more tourists compared to 2019. With this growth, Albania is also ranked third worldwide, with only Qatar (over 137%) and El Salvador (over 81%) seeing greater increases. One of its most renowned attractions is the Albanian Riviera, which stretches along the Ionian coast and enchants visitors with its beaches, coves, and pristine waters,” writes WEB.DE.

The WEB.DE article highlights that “Albania’s cities and villages also attract tourists. Close to the capital, Tirana, you can explore the historic town of Gjirokastër and the UNESCO World Heritage city of Berat. With its charming traditional villages, lively cities, and stunning landscapes, Albania stands out as a beautiful and low-budget alternative to other Mediterranean destinations. If you wish to experience the country in peace, it’s recommended to plan your trip soon due to the increasing number of visitors.”
