Minister of Internal Affairs Besfort Lamallari was in Kruja on the afternoon together with Minister of Defense Ermal Nufi.

In a reaction to the situation, Minister Lamallari stated that the fire was caused by human hands and that the State Police has already arrested the suspected perpetrator.

“The State Police has already arrested the arsonist and he will face serious legal consequences for this criminal offense,” wrote Minister Lamallari in the social media.

The minister also stated that the police units continue to be engaged on the ground to guarantee the safety of local residents.

According to the minister, following the request of the local government, the State Police has taken measures for the partial evacuation of residents who are located near the fire, as a preventive measure to guarantee their lives and safety. /p.s./

“There are 125 people prosecuted for arson and over 22 people arrested, so far”- stated Hoxha.

In a post in the social media, Minister Hoxha stated that the hot weather favors the spread of flames, increasing the risk of irreparable consequences.

“Law enforcement agencies must react immediately, decisively and without any tolerance, against any perpetrator of criminal acts like arson attacks. We put the priority on investigation and punishment of arsonists and no one will escape justice”, emphasized the minister.

Balla said that the firefighter teams, supported by the Air Force, are working to put under control a massive fire in Ulez, Mat municipality.

“Meanwhile, the State Police is identifying arsonists in many cases. They have caused great damage to forests and pastures, but have also endangered the lives and homes of the local residents”, underlined Balla.

The police said that, “Yesterday, immediately after receiving the notification of a fire in the forest massif of the village of Buzëmadh, Fier, the police immediately went to this village and after 10 hours of efforts in cooperation with the fire fighting service managed to extinguish the fire”.

“Following the investigative actions to identify and bring before the legal responsibility the author of this case of arson, based on intelligence, the specialists for the investigation of crimes of the Fier Police Station arrested in the act the citizen I. K., 68 years old, resident of Cakran, Fier”, said the Police.

“This citizen allegedly started a fire for the opening up of new pasture land, in the forest of the village of Buzëmadh, and due to the wind that blew, the fire spread and as a result, 40 hectares of land with different vegetation and 100 olive trees, owned by some local residents of this village were burnt”, said further the police.

The Fier Local Police Directorate appeals to citizens not to light fires under any circumstances, as this action constitutes a crime and is punishable by criminal law, and invites them to report any such case to the number 112, with the aim of immediate intervention to put it out and take criminal proceedings of the responsible citizens./r.e/p.s./
