The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Milva Ekonomi along with the Mayor of Durrës, Emiriana Sako, inspected the works on the rehabilitation of the irrigation system in Arapaj reservoir.

According to Ekonomi, this reservoir will improve the drainage and irrigation efficiency of lands for farmers, as well as it will serve to collect the waters of the Arapaj area during the wet season, avoiding floods.

“About 80% of the rehabilitation work has been completed, while work is underway on landslide rehabilitation. The next phase will involve works on the construction of drainages throughout the dam, so that there are no more recurrences of floods and defects that the dam has faced over the past years,” the engineer said. //a.i/
