There are also reports that as a result of the snowfall, the lines and poles of the electricity network have been damaged, affecting the assets of the 110kW voltage of the Electricity Utility OST and the high voltage of 35kW, mainly in the southeast of the country.

Meanwhile, despite the snowfall in the road to Dajti Mount in Tirana, the traffic is smooth.

According to ARA, the construction of this bypass aimed at avoiding the underground galleries of the former mine after the ceding of the land as a result of the post-mining phenomenon.

“In the Jergucat-Saranda road segment, near the former Stone Salt Mine, Dhrovjan, the works on the construction of a bypass are well underway as a result of the post-mining phenomenon of road surface ceding, where funnels have appeared in the meadow by the Vris brook about 15- 20 m from the stream. The diversion of this segment aimed at avoiding the underground galleries of the former Salt Mine, has a length of about 400 m and will enable the normal and safe operation of the Jergucat-Saranda road segment. Despite the increase in vehicle traffic during the summer season, ARA has not stopped work to keep the roads in optimal condition.

ARA has continued the work on roadside vegetation management from the north to the south of the country, along with the placement of traffic signs, urban waste cleaning.

“Maintenance contractors have been engaged on the ground to keep road axis clean without obstructing traffic,” ARA said.
