According to BoA, of the total loan applications, 8% belong to the “enterprises” sector (2533 applications from “small and medium-sized enterprises” and 2194 applications from “large enterprises”) and 92% belong to the sector of “individuals” (56,055 applications in total).
This distribution has remained the same compared to the previous six months, but has shifted somewhat in favor of enterprises compared to a year ago.

In the total number of applications reviewed during the period, it turns out that about 24% of them were rejected by the banks. This rate has continued to increase, resulting in about 3.7 percentage points higher than six months ago and about 5.8 percentage points higher than a year ago.

According to the Bank of Albania, the total number of loan applications reviewed by banks has decreased by 5.5% compared to the last six months of 2022.

This decrease came from “small and medium enterprises” (by 21.6 %) and individuals (by 4.9 %), while the category “other enterprises” resulted in an increase of 2.1 %.
Even compared to a year ago, the number of applications also decreased by 7.9%, coming from all three categories of customers, but more pronounced for “small and medium enterprises”.
