Vata/ The Public Commissioner, within the legal deadline, filed an appeal to the Special Appellate College close to Constitutional Court against the decision of the Independent Qualification Commission on the subject of re-evaluation, Iliba Bezati, judge in Vlora’s Court of Appeal.

The Public Commissioner finds that after the review of the decision of the Independent Qualification Commission and its accompanying acts, legal circumstances arise that make the decision questionable.

The Public Commissioner requests that the reasons for the appeal be considered by the Special Appellate College and, after the College conducts a thorough investigation and evaluation of the results of the administrative investigation into the subject of the re-evaluation, will decide either to uphold or reverse the the decision no. 352, dated 1.3.2021, of the Independent Qualification Commission.

The Institution of Public Commissioners has been established and functions on the basis of Article 179 / b and the annex of the Constitution of the Republic of Albania, and law no. 84/2016, “On the transitional re-evaluation of judges and prosecutors in the Republic of Albania.”

Public Commissioners represent the public interest during the process of transitional re-evaluation of judges and prosecutors in the Republic of Albania.
