Addressing a conference marking the end of the mandate of the Independent Qualification Commission, the EU Ambassador Gonzato praised commissioners for their contribution to the process, aimed at restoring the country’s judiciary.

“It is crucial that the appeal cases complete on time so that the Appeals Chamber of the Vetting process make sure that the re-evaluation completes within the constitutional deadline,” Gonzato said.

According to him, it is essential that High Prosecutorial Council, High Judiciary Council and other new justice bodies in Albania deliver and demonstrate competence in maintaining standards during their term in office.

According to EU Ambassador Gonzato, vetting commissioners have provided valuable contribution to opening the first Cluster of accession negotiations with EU.
