On Monday, Prime Minister Edi Rama shared photos from Kavaja where the new neighborhood with 7 residential buildings consisted of 330 apartments has taken shape.

“Good morning and with the opening of other doors for families affected by the earthquake in Kavaja, I wish you all a nice week ahead,” said Rama.

In Kavaja, 9 apartment buildings and 134 housing units have been built back, of which 50 were handed over to the households affected by the November 26, 2019 earthquake.

The whole construction site encompasses 3.5 hectares.

The Reconstruction Program is progressing swiftly in all directions, whether in the construction of buildings, apartment units, public infrastructure and educational facilities.

The mayor of Kavaja, Redjan Krali, said that, “the structures are expected to be completed at the end of May, whereas the buildings will be completed at the end of August. ”

While the mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, emphasized that, “what is important here is that the kindergarten and daycare are adjacent, it is also the hospital at the end. So the neighborhood is surrounded by services.”

The engineer of the construction firm said that, “after completing the first phase of infrastructure, sidewalks, lighting, green spaces, the construction process has advanced to the second and third floor. The 7 apartment buildings will be delivered in September to continue with the second phase of the infrastructure. ”
