TIRANA, Jan 24 /ATA/ – Main opposition Democratic Party (DP) is set to hold its second nationwide protest at 5 p.m. on Saturday along Tirana’s Martyrs of the Nation Boulevard, outside the Prime Minister’s office.

DP leader Sali Berisha said the protest would be a “decisive moment” for Albania, describing it as a day of “popular judgment” against Prime Minister Edi Rama.

Berisha called for massive turnout of opposition supporters, portraying the demonstration as the main tool for political change and a direct response to what the opposition describes as a deep crisis of democratic order in the country.

He said the protest aimed to restore the rule of law, democracy and hope for the future.

Authorities expect an increased police presence and traffic disruptions on several of Tirana’s main roads throughout the day. Local media reported that about 1,350 police officers will be deployed.

Police said traffic restrictions have been imposed on several routes to ensure public order and safety during the protest.
