Visiting the exhibition of Andy Warhol’s iconic pop art works, which opened on June 5, Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj said that the Albanian capital has become a hub for genuine contemporary art.

Mayor Veliaj praised the city’s vibrant cultural scene, stating that Tirana has become the epicentre of beautiful events in the region.

“Tirana has become the epicentre of beautiful events taking place in our region, including art, culture and concerts.Today, we live in a time when the whole world is coming to Tirana. For those who have seen many of Andy Warhol’s reproductions in the city’s power cabinets, now they have the opportunity to see the artist’s 39 authentic works in Tirana,” the Mayor said in his remarks.

Veliaj emphasized that the city doesn’t live with tourism and IT only, but also with art and culture, adding that the Albanian capital has the tightest artistic-cultural calendar in the entire region.

The exhibition is part of Tirana’s efforts to promote its cultural offerings, which include a range of activities such as concerts, festivals, and art exhibitions.

The exhibition is open to the public until August 5, and visitors can also attend other cultural events in the city, such as the “Agimi” cinema festival, the “Reja” festival, and the “Maks Velo” cinema in Laprakë.
