Addressing an open meeting with the third group of applicants, who wish to run as candidates for members of parliament on behalf of the ruling SP via the party’s online portal “the MP We Want,” responded to the claims, suggesting that three terms in office were too much time.

In his remarks, the government head said that the ruling Socialists should stay remain in charge, stating this was not ambition for power, but an ambition for Albania.

“You have been hearing many saying that three terms in office are too much time. No, they are not too much, when considering our project, the strength and the responsibility. In many democratic countries in Europe, in countries with highest democratic standards than the rest of Europe, countries in Northern Europe, there are political parties that have been leading their country for 30, 40 or even up to 50 countries. I am not saying that this should be the case, but SP should remain in charge. This is not an ambition for power, but an ambition for Albania and the power is needed to deliver on this ambition,” PM Rama remarked.
