TIRANA, Nov 20 /ATA/ The Chairwoman of the Audiovisual Media Authority, Armela Krasniqi, held a meeting on Wednesday with the delegation from the Center for Rule of Law, an institution established by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland and the University of Helsinki. The delegation is in Tirana for the Policy Reform Dialogue roundtable, organized in collaboration with this Center, the Central Election Commission (CEC), and International IDEA.

During the meeting, Krasniqi walked the director of the Finnish public broadcaster, Timo Huovinen, and Marjo Naapit, an expert from the Center for Rule of Law through the scope of Audiovisual Media Authority (AMA), its division of responsibilities, and its monitoring role during the electoral process, a task the Authority has been carrying out since 2021.

The discussion focused on the current challenges presented by the media market, as well as the work of the AMA as a regulator, thanks to the technological developments.

Krasniqi expressed her gratitude for the willingness shown to cooperate in every direction, based on the needs that the AMA may have in the future.

“As Huovinen showed us, Finland is one of the countries where the process of self-regulation has worked most effectively for the media market, in the face of changes and challenges of the time. Therefore, such experiences or the exchange of knowhow, expertise, and the strengthening of institutional capacities is always a good idea for achieving success in our work,” the chairwoman of AMA said.
