TIRANA, June 27 /ATA/ – The Allergology Department at Tirana’s University Hospital Center “Mother Teresa” (QSUNT) has been certified as a Center of Excellence by the Global Allergy and Asthma Excellence Network, the hospital said in a social media post on Saturday.

The certification recognizes the department’s specialized expertise in the diagnosis, treatment and long-term management of allergic diseases and reflects its adherence to international standards of care.

The unit provides services for patients with a broad range of allergic conditions, including allergic asthma, allergic rhinitis, urticaria, allergic dermatitis, food and drug allergies, as well as reactions to insect stings.

Its clinical activities include specialist consultations, skin allergy testing, laboratory evaluations and other advanced diagnostic procedures designed to identify allergens and guide individualized treatment plans.

The department works in close coordination with other specialties, including pulmonology, dermatology, pediatrics, otorhinolaryngology and immunology, enabling a multidisciplinary approach to complex cases.

QSUNT said the recognition follows continued investment in diagnostic technology, updates to clinical protocols and efforts to strengthen the professional capacities of its medical staff.

The hospital said the certification underscores its commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care and improving outcomes through early diagnosis and evidence-based treatment of allergic diseases.
