Addressing a rally with the Albanian diaspora in London, PM Rama said the initiative aims to address legal hurdles faced by families registering their children in Albania.

The government head underlined that many still go through bureaucratic bottlenecks in registering their children in Albania, because they have had to conceal their true identity in order to obtain permit to stay in the United Kingdom.

“Some of you in the United Kingdom too had to conceal their identity just to take up jobs they had never dreamed of when they embarked on their trip to here, while some still today go through bureaucratic difficulties in registering their children in Albania, as they have a different name in the English passport and a different one they want to have in the Albanian birth certificate,” PM Rama said.
