A total of 23 fire outbreaks were recorded between August 17 and 18, according to the Ministry of Defence. Most fires were extinguished in areas including Gramsh, Vlorë, Skrapar, Durrës, Krujë, Shkodër, Elbasan and Delvinë.

Efforts continue to contain active fires in rugged and forested terrain. In Bulqizë, northeast Albania, two forest fires are still burning, with firefighters, local authorities, and forestry services battling the blazes.

In Fushë-Arrëz, several fires remain out of control due to difficult terrain, where 50 army personnel have been deployed alongside local teams.

Fires in the Gërmenj Nature Park near the border, and in the Rëzoma Park area of Delvinë, also remain active or under surveillance.

The National Civil Protection Agency, in coordination with the armed forces and local emergency units, continues operations to suppress remaining fires and prevent further spread.
