TIRANA, Oct 15 /ATA/ – Tirana and Ankara are set to deepen their economic cooperation at the Albania-Türkiye Investment Forum 2025, one of the year’s most significant business events, taking place this Friday in the Albanian capital.

Organized by the Albanian Investment Development Agency (AIDA) in cooperation with MÜSİAD Albania, the high-level forum will be held at the Palace of Congresses and is expected to draw more than 1,500 participants from both countries – including senior government officials, investors, business leaders, and economic development stakeholders.

Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama and Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz are expected to attend the opening ceremony, alongside ministers and representatives of both public and private institutions.

AIDA Executive Director Laura Saro described the forum as a key platform to showcase Albania’s potential as a sustainable investment destination and to further strengthen bilateral economic ties.

The event will focus on four strategic sectors with high growth potential: construction, information and communication technology, tourism, and agriculture including the food industry.

In addition to plenary sessions and thematic panels, the forum will feature interactive discussions and direct “business-to-business” and “business-to-government” meetings aimed at facilitating concrete partnerships and knowledge exchange.

Trade between Albania and Türkiye has intensified in recent years. In 2024, Albanian imports from Türkiye rose by 14% to 96.6 billion lek, while exports to Türkiye reached 4.8 billion lek. In the first seven months of 2025, imports stood at 50.8 billion lek, with exports totaling 2.7 billion lek.

Currently, 658 Turkish-owned companies operate in Albania, along with 80 joint ventures, spanning nearly all regions of the country. Tirana hosts the highest concentration of these businesses, with 82% based in the capital, followed by Durrës (6%) and Fier (3%).

The growing presence of Turkish enterprises reflects a rising interest in the Albanian market and continues to strengthen the economic partnership between the two countries.
